1. About downloading

Q. Can I use the browser version without downloading the application?

A.We don’t have a browser version at the moment.

Q. I can’t download Recolis because it’s blocked by my security software.

A. If you are blocked by your security software, you need to remove the block from your software.

2. Connection

Q. I cannot hear the test voice.

A. Please check your access code and network status. If there is no problem with either of these, your network may have a security problem. Please contact us for details.

Q. I was able to listen to the test audio beforehand, but the screen does not switch to the actual connection standby mode.

A. Is the connection status in the upper left corner of the screen green? If it is orange, yellow, red, etc., you may need to improve your internet environment, or try a mobile connection if you are not connected to Wi-Fi.

Q. How much will it cost if I use my cell phone’s mobile communication instead of Wi-Fi?

A. It depends on the audio quality, but it will take about 14MB per hour.

Q. Can I listen to Recolis from China?

A. Like other apps, Recolis may be blocked in China. Please try if you can play the test voice before using it.

3. Operation

Q. How do I mute the sound?

A. Tap the speaker icon in the lower left corner of the screen to mute it. Tap it again to return to the original volume.

Q. I want to stop watching.

A. Recolis will continue to play in the background even if you close the app while watching. If you want to stop watching, close the app itself or mute it for a while and it will automatically disconnect.

Q. What is the handset speaker?

A. It’s a way to listen by holding the device to your ear, just like when you make a phone call with your smartphone. You can use it when you don’t have earphones.

Q. Is it possible to start another application on the same smartphone while Recolis is running?

A. No, you can’t launch other apps such as web conference on your smartphone at the same time.

Q. Is it possible to record on Recolis?

A.Recolis does not have a recording function, so please request it separately or use an IC recorder. Please note that recording of the interpreter’s voice may not be allowed in some cases.

4. How to use Recolis as an organizer

Q. Can interpreters deliver Recolis from home?

A.The interpreter must come to the venue or to the interpretation center to use Recolis.

Q. Can I only hear the interpreter’s voice from Recolis? Or can I listen to the original voice as well?

A. Both delivery methods are possible depending on the settings you have made in advance. However, there will be a delay of at least 0.2 seconds when you listen to the original audio, so the sound may be misaligned when you listen to it in the venue.

Q. Is it possible to use infrared for on-site participants and Recolis for remote participants?

A. Yes, any combination is possible, even if it is combined with a web conference such as ZOOM or Teams.

Q. When I use the local Recolis, I heard that you build a dedicated Wi-Fi connection.

A. We will adjust the frequency to avoid interference, but there may be times when the frequency is not available. Please consult with us beforehand so that we can check the situation at the venue.

Q. Can I freely set the access code?

A. Basically, we will set the access code for you, but you can set it freely if you wish. However, the code for the local version must be prefixed with the letter “9”, and the code for the cloud version cannot be prefixed with “9″.

Q. Is it possible to add more units just before the production?

A. Yes, it is possible. However, the number is limited, so please consult with us in advance.

Q. Will an engineer be with me during the production?

A.You will always be accompanied by an engineer when you use Recolis. The engineer operates the volume and sound quality and also monitors the connection status. If you are worried about your first time using Recolis, we can set up a help desk during the production.
